Simplify WiFi instructions
I found the WiFi instructions slightly more complicated than required here - especially since the setup here is not persistent and one has to follow more instructions in the xfce section.
I propose the following simplified WiFi setup guide.
-
wpa_passphrase SSID mypassword
- this will print
network={
ssid="SSID"
#psk="mypassword"
psk=31b922c7eb5c53bc1c6125e6ed5c3ed6cfae176fde1c4c51d9944e31450f031f
}
- Copy the above contents to the file
/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant-wlan0.conf
- Ask wpa_supplicant to use the updated file with the following command -
wpa_supplicant -B -i wlan0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant-wlan0.conf
- Get the IP address that is allocated to your device using
ifconfig wlan0
.
